I, Jansen, am the fifth child (of seven) of a Mr. and Mrs. John J. Price Jr. I was born in Mesa, Arizona, and I lived there with my family until I was seven years old. We moved to Minnesota, and I have been here ever since.
I had a lot of fun growing up, as you can imagine with so many siblings.

We are a very musical family, and we sang a lot together, as well as doing other stuff. I started p...

I can't believe 2008 is almost over!

Wow, 2008 has gone fast...

Here is what I have done this year:

The company I worked for moved to a new location, about 6 blocks away, so now I work about 11 blocks from my home.

I love my job!

We have lived in our house for a year.

I sang in church a few times.

We went to the state fair.

I voted.

I got Wii fit, and an ipod touch.

I got 1.5 out of 4 in the chess tournament at work.

I ate a bunch of ramen noodles.

My Birthday is coming up.

I will be 24. Yay!

Okay, I lied.

My birthday is in February - it is coming up, but not for a while.

I'll be 29.

I want to announce that we bought a house. It is a cute rambler with two bedrooms, one bath and unfinished basement.

I always wanted to name my house, so we did. It is Svetlanahaus. To us it means "house of light".

We decided to redo the kitchen right away, and wow, that is a lot of work. I am excited for the final product though, that will be neat when it is all done. We ripped out the cabinets and redid the floor and the plumbing for the sink, and did most of the electrical work, so now we need to get the walls done and install our new cabinets and yay! we will have a kitchen again. It's been rough cooking only by grill, microwave and crock-pot.

On and out

The most exciting thing in our recent present is that we are going to move out of this place and buy a house!

We found this cute house in the city we live in that both of us just really like. We just feel like it is going to be ours. We also found a lender that can give us a mortgage for a price that we like.

We'll let you know how everything goes with that.

I suppose I should update

Hi, it is already almost my birthday (February 28th), which means that winter is coming shortly to a close. This winter has been odd, though: very warm weather and not much snow. Although now we are getting the snow. It has been snowing all night long and it still is (2 pm on Sunday). We have about 25 cm of snow now (maybe I am off, I am just looking out the window and the snow has drifted in places making it difficult to tell).

I am glad that Dmitri was born in February. February is my favorite month. I like it because my birthday is in February, and also because it is the unique month (only 28 days, sometimes 29). Also, there are a lot of birthdays in February of famous cool people, like Abe Lincoln and George Washington, etc.

For Valentine's day I got a bunch daisies for Christina and 2 red roses for Eva and a bunch of lilies for Dima.

The snow is very peaceful.

The Honda Returns

I would like to announce that our little white Honda civic, is back in commission after being unusable for 8.5 months. We got the engine completely replaced! Yay! Now hopefully the head gasket won't keep getting ruined. Our home teacher, who works at a Honda dealership, was able to find out the problem and got us a new engine and put it in for us, and now it runs great.

Our home teacher found out that one of the valves in the cylinders in the engine was corroded so it could never make a seal correctly on the head gasket and that is also why we had so many problems with the cooling system and what not.

It is nice to have two vehicles so that I can drive to work and Christina and Eva can also have a car to go places throughout the day.

We are excited for our baby who is coming in February, and I am looking forward to finding out what it is like to be a double dad.

New Camera

I bought a new camera. I like it. It is a Canon Powershoot SD630, and it is quite nice. It has a 3 inch LCD screen on the back and can take movies. It is real small, fits right into my pocket.

I will have to post some pictures that I take with it when I get a chance.

I am currently kept real busy at work doing a ton of stuff. I am at that point where 8 hours in a day is not enough to take care of everything I need to do, so I feel like the work is piling up continually, and I'll never catch up to it.

We took one side off of Eva's crib today and I think she really likes the fact that it is a "real" bed now. She cuddled herself up into it tonight when she went to bed.

State Fair

So, we went to the Minnesota State Fair on Friday, Sep. 1st, and boy was it crowded (and expensive)! But we did get to see Cows, goats, horses, geese, ducks, turkeys, and the cutest one day old lambs you have ever seen.

It was fun to show Eva all the animals in real life. She mostly just stared at them in awe. She also enjoyed looking at all the rides in the midway. She sure did get tired by the end of the night, as did I.

In addition we ate pizza, cotton candy, fried cheese curds and Root Beer. We also rode the ferris wheel, and I rode the carousel with Eva, which she so thoroughly enjoyed.

End of Summer

Summer is almost coming to a close. Next comes Autumn.

I have been riding my bicycle to work almost every day, except last week the front tire got flat and I had to get a new inner tube, and my brother recommended getting a new tire too, cause the one I had was getting all old and cracked. So, with a new tire I was ready to take on the world again, only now my rear derailer is broken, so I gotta get that fixed. I can't even figure out what happened to it, but the chain is really loose now. and it makes it not rideable.

Hot Weather We're Having Lately

The temperature has been oh so hot lately, and the humidity high. It was a very sultry end of July. Most days when I came home from work, I sat upon the couch tired and sweating from the bike ride, thankful for an air conditioner.

In summer when it is so hot we say, "I wish it was winter again" (Not remembering how we longed for the hot summer during the cold winter months). But that is what keeps me happy, that I live in a place where it gets hot and cold. It's never boring. There is always something to look forward to. Minnesota is a beautiful state.

Added photo section

If you previously received a "Sorry plan 'A' not available" message when you attempted to go to the Family Photos section of this site, may I offer plan 'B', which is a... photo section. There are only a few photos added so far, but more will come.

Things are going great here in our town. We swim in our pool when we get the chance, take walks as a family, and go out to eat at steakhouses. Yesterday Christina actually wanted to go to a steak restaurant and eat some steak! For a person who doesn't like meat, I thought that was amazing.

I spent the last 3 nights updating this webpage so it is beautiful and nice to use. I also built a back-end for us to log in and easily add news items from any web browser.

Okay, I know. I am a geek.

So, we saw Superman Returns, and I guess I will have to say it wasn't as good as I expected it to be. Since the new actor who plays Superman and Clark Kent is like 12 years younger than Christopher Reeve, it is too hard to imagine him as the later self of the one from the original Superman and Superman II. It was more like the teenage Superman.

But seeing him fly around was awesome!

Business Business Business

I have dissolved the recording studio business partnership I had with a friend. We both have been too busy to devote a considerable amount of time to it, so we split up the assets and are now each doing our own thing.

I am also still working at Dexma, a company that develops web application software for mortgage companies and enjoying it.

I also find the time here and there to work on various websites.
